The midweek action rounded off officially the 31st round of football in England's top league, we take a look at what we learnt from the just concluded matchday.
5. Liverpool Are Nothing Without Mane
Liverpool endured a stalemate at Anfield on Wednesday night, inability to beat Bournemouth has highlighted The Reds' performance against 'lesser teams', how can you not beat Bournemouth after thrashing an Everton that has Lukaku a few days earlier? On the same ground. The fact remains that since joining Liverpool last summer Sadio Mane has been highly instrumental and they have NEVER won a game he did not play, before the game last night when Mane starts Liverpool's average point per game is 2.2 and 0.5 when he doesn't, whe he starts their winning percentage is 65.4% and 0% when he doesn't. Talk about a one man team.
4. Tottenham Have Grown
Tottenham have shown great signs of having moved on from last season's debacle, where they finished third in a two horse race, well without their star man Harry Kane they're still winning and playing with confidence, Dele Alli's performance was inspirational against Swansea as usual, who is to say that this team cannot pounce should Chelsea slip up.
3. The Drop Is Near For Sunderland
One victory in 13 games and ten points away from safety it will only be forward planning for David Moyes and his troops to start preparing for life in the Championship. Jermain Defoe's goals seem to have dried up, and when he scores they are never enough for the black cats, there are eight games left for Sunderland and these games include Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. These are bitter days Sunderland.
2. The Top 4 Is An Open Cheque
Apart from Chelsea and Tottenham who seem to have sealed a top 4 spot, performances from the chasing pack leaves plenty to be talked about, Manchester United's continued draws, Liverpool's inconsistencies against 'lower opposition' are things to ponder about. Man City's Pep Guardiola looks like he's stil getting to grips with life in England meanwhile Arsenal remain unpredictable as ever, our advice is you should not bet on any of these teams to make the top 4 yet.
1. We Don't Expect A Drama
Chelsea's biggest opponent of their remaining eight games is Manchester United, therefore we do not see a slip up, the coasting to the title should be straightforward, but then again the EPL is anybody's guess.
