Romelu Lukaku Wins Monthly Gong

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has claimed the EA Sports player of the month Award for the month of March. The 23 year old raced to the award with four goals and two assists in three games as he saw off competition from AFC Bournemouth's Joshua King and Artur Boruc, Southampton's Nathan Redmond, Crystal Palace's Mamadou Sakho and Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum.

It was the first time the Belgian picked up the award, Lukaku finished march with a brace in the 4-0 victory over Hull City, the two goals saw Lukaku climb the top scorer's chart this term with 21 goals and he also became the first Everton player to reach 20 goals in a single Premier League season.

Eddie Howe Is Manager Of The Month

After masterminding an unbeaten run in March Eddie Howe deservedly became the youngest recipient of the awards and of course it was his first time, two wins and a draw at Old Trafford was enough to take the Cherries up to 11th place. Sam Allardyce, Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Craig Shakespare of Leicester City were all nominees for the award.

Five Fixtures To Look Out For In The Month Of April

Well April is gonna be lit with fixtures left and right you might have your pick, but here are suggestions from Ziccifoot.

5. Liverpool v Everton 01/04/2017

The merseyside derby kicks off an action packed April on April fool's day but there will be no fooling around on a day Both teams know that European football is still within their reach. Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League but have Manchester United breathing down their necks, while Everton will believe a top 6 finish is still a reality, Mane's 90th minute goal helped Liverpool edge Everton at Goodison Park in December.

4. Chelsea - Manchester City 05/04/2017

Manchester City will have a busy April and this is the first of  their two fixtures on this list, the citizens travel to Stamford bridge three days after visiting The Emirates stadium, It will make for an interesting encounter as Chelsea thrashed City 3-1 in Manchester as they completed a 13-game winning run, it will be interesting to see whether Guardiola's men can halt Conte's charges in their stride. We are also not forgetting the possibility of these two meeting in the FA Cup final.

3. Atletico Madrid - Leicester City 12/04/2017

English champions and England's remaining representative in the champions league travel to the dreaded Vincente Calderon to face 2016 finalists Atletico Madrid, their second Spanish opposition in the competition, not many have given Leicester City a chance but then again we all know they're capable of going against the odds, Atletico Madrid themselves  were underdogs in the shape of Leicester not too long ago until repeated hardwork paid off. We will all be watching to see what will become of the English champions.

2. Manchester United - Manchester City 27/04/2017

The two Manchester giants have already met twice this season with victory for each side, though this is an outstanding game, the timing is of great importance as there might be struggle for top four finish and the talk of pride between the two managers never ever goes away.

1. Real Madrid - Barcelona 23/04/2017

No fixture rivals the El Classico, It will be a very tough month for the Los Blancos as they also face Bayern Munuch (twice) and Atletico Madrid too, the 11 time European champions look thirsty for domestic success once again and would be looking to get a tighter grip on the title by making a statement with this game. A late Sergio Ramos header stole one point for Real Madrid in the reverse fixture. It's never a bad day to watch an El Classico.

Liverpool Facing Transfer Ban

Liverpool are facing the prospect of a transfer ban after reportedly approaching Stoke City schoolboy according to Metro, reports elsewhere also suggest Liverpool are under investigation by the Premier League after they allegedly tapped up the teenager.

If found guilty Liverpool are likely to face a fine, as well as a potential transfer ban on signing youth players, although that maybe suspended.

Barcelona have already served a 14 month ban for breaking rules over signing young players.  Real Madrid were banned from signing players in the January transfer window after flouting similar rules, while Atletico Madrid will find out the result of their appeal against a two window ban on the 24th of April.

Liverpool also broke the Premier League rule which prevents clubs from footing bills for an individual child's education. The unnamed schoolboy will not be able to feature for another club until Stoke City is paid £49,000 in compensation.

Clash Of Egos As Chelsea Plan Their Title Defense.. .They're In A Civil War

Antonio Conte Wants Madrid Striker Morata At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have been locked in a war of selection as they search for a new striker, The Sun reports that champions elect Chelsea are willing to splash  £70 million in the summer to get fresh fire power upfront as they plan for their title defense next season.

It is believed Antonio Conte wants a marquee signing and favours the recruitment of Alvaro Morata, The Italian manager who is already looking ahead is planning Chelsea's title defense and also for Champions league return to the bridge. Alvaro Morata will be leaving Real Madrid for a second time if he makes the switch after previously having a spell at Italian giants Juventus.

Chelsea's technical director Michael Emenalo is however rooting for Romelu Lukaku after being instrumental in bringing Lukaku to Chelsea in 2011 as a teenager. Lukaku is the Premier League's top scorer with 21 goals this season and recently he became Everton's all highest goal scorer in the league, this is why Emenalo is counting on Lukaku's Premier Leaue experience.

Lukaku Has Been In Inspiring Form All Season

So you all can see there's a clash of Egos somewhere right??

Diego Costa's departure appears to be imminent however as he is wanted by Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian, there is also talk of him returning to his homeland and to former club Atletico Madrid. Antonio Conte's 3-4-3 formation is centered around one main striker therefore it will be interesting to see who will be made to sit on the bench if Chelsea finally sign both Lukaku and Morata however  misfit Mitchy Batchstuayi is still at the club.

Paul Scholes Says Only One Team Can Stop Manchester United

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes French club Lyon is the only team remaining in the Europa League that can prevent Manchester United from winning the trophy. Manchester United face Anderlecht in their quarter final fixture in a fortnight, the other teams remaining in the competition are Celta Vigo, Ajax, Schalke, Lyon, Genk and Besikas.

Manchester United's top four finish is uncertain but winning the Europa league will be an optional route to next year's Champions league but Paul Scholes feels the Ligue 1 side can cause Mourinho's men trouble.

Scholes told Omnisport. "It's a great chance for them, they are obviously the biggest team left in the competition. They are favourites and rightly so."

"If they perform anything (like they can ) they have got a great chance of winning, I think Lyon are maybe the obvious contenders to United but apart from that I don't see too many problems for the in that competition."

Tottenham's Erik Lamela Out For The Season

Tottenham's Argentine midfielder has been ruled out for the rest of the season, the 25 year old who last played in October 2016 has been involved in nine goals this season for Tottenham.

A hip injury has kept Lamela out of the side since last year and he is due to undergo a surgery on Saturday. Tottenham had previously said Lamela had "achieved a good level of function" but was not at a stage to make a return to training, leading to the decision to operate.

Lamela tweeted "I've tried to recover but my hip is still not 100%,"

"I can't compete at the level I want to. I'll face this challenge with a positive attitude and can't wait to get back with the team and be stronger," Erik Lamela who joined Spurs for a club record fee in 2013 netted 13 goals last season but has been restricted to just 14 appearances this term.

Tottenham are 10 points behind League leaders Chelsea and travel to Turf Moor on Saturday to face Burnley.

Conspiracy Theories Trail Messi's Ban .. .They Say FIFA Is Tryna 'Show Him'

It is not enough that Argentina fans have endured heartbreaks since 2014 World Cup final game against Germany, it has been sad news after sad news in the two summers that followed, but with the latest ban that was handed Lionel Messi yesterday the whole country is not even sure of qualifying for the next major tournament.

There are conspiracy theories being cooked up to explain why FIFA acted so harshly towards Messi, some believe the World football's governing body have a vendetta against the FC Barcelona Superstar for snubbing the recent FIFA Gala awards show at the start of the year which saw his eternal rival Ronaldo crowned the best player for 2016.

The Spanish press have expressed the 'snub conspiracy theory' in front of their dailies this Wednesday. Argentines in football circles however believe the ban would never have happened if Julio Grondona was still around, former Argentina FA President was a major figure inside FIFA until his demise in 2014, they go on to postulate that Argentina's standing has dropped seriously in the eyes of the World Football's governing body.

4 Top Teams Teams In Danger Of Missing Russia 2018

The International break has come to an end, the qualifiers have come and gone but there are World Cup 'regulars' who are walking the thin line that might see them miss out on next year's mundial in Russia.

1. Netherlands

The dutch pride themselves as the inventors of total football and rightly so but there has been a steady decline in dutch football in recent years, their absence at the Euros last year in France was just scratch in what has now appeared to be a decaying wound and a 2-0 loss to Bulgaria did not do any good to the team in their qualification bid, they have 7 points from a possible 15 and sit fourth in a group of six and have sacked head coach Danny Blind.

2. Argentina

Lionel Messi's four game ban by FIFA came at the wrongest time for the Albiceleste who till that point had an indifferent qualification, but loss to supposed minnows Bolivia on Tuesday night has seen the white and blue drop out of the Automatic qualification places and will play their next three without their star player and Captain.

3. Chile

Victory for Chile and Argentina's loss to Bolivia catapulted the South American champions to 4th (an automatic qualification spot) from 6th, but performances have hardly convinced. The back to back Continental champions are hardly safe as they have Argentina and Ecuador still breathing down their necks.

4. USA

They are not exactly world powers like the aforementioned trio but they have a knack for constantly appearing at the World Cup, in the CONCACAF group USA have 4 points from a possible 12 and they are below Panama on the log. Three teams come to the World Cup from the CONCACAF zone (the third team goes through a playoff) and with USA 4th in a group of six, it is safe to say the odds aren't exactly in their favour

Isco's Departure From Real Madrid Is Imminent... .And There's Financial Panic

Real Madrid midfielder Isco had indicated earlier that he will reconsider his future at the end of the season. Madrid aren't just scared of Isco leaving the club, the worry is that the 24 year old the could leave at the end of his contract , there by not bringing in a single Pound to the club and that will be bad, very bad for business.

It is understood that The Los Blancos will not use Isco next season if he does not renew his current contract which runs out June 30 2018, the same source claims that the capital club are willing to sell Isco but not before he renews his deal with the club, this is in a bid to avoid the prospect of him leaving for free.

Real Madrid had offered the Spaniard a six year contract worth  £5.2m a year however he is looking for about £9m in the new contract.

Manchester United Willing To Meet Neymar's £170m Buyout Clause

Reports in the media claim Manchester United are prepared to pay Neymar's buyout clause at Barcelona and also offer the 25 year old  £22m a year.

The English club has gotten in touch with the Brazilian through his representatives in a bid to tempt him away from the Camp Nou, they have offered him an economic and sporting offer that he cannot refuse according to reports. Mourinho is desperate to reinforce Manchester United as a European force and Neymar has been identified as a potential 'power signing'.

Mourinho is steadily on the phone with Neymar and tries to convince the Brazilian that a move away from Nou Camp will suit him as he will no longer be living in Messi's shadow. Manchester United who had already paid  £89m for Paul Pogba last summer are ready to splash  £170m on Neymar to shatter their own record.

Roman Abramovich's Chelsea also want the Barcelona forward but are not prepared to pay the buyout clause. Manchester United's position does not help them because the club still look unlikely to play in the Champions league next season and that will be a criteria if Neymar is to sign, for now though the Brazilian is happy at Barcelona and is yet to be convinced.

Monaco Put £130m Price Tag On Mbappe

The race to sign teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe has taken a new turn as the French club has put a £130m price tag on the young striker. Manchester United lead the chase to sign the wonder-kid  but there is competition from a host of other clubs that has caused Monaco slap the bank-busting amount on a teenager.

Chelsea and Arsenal have made their interests towards Mbappe well known in the past six months, Spanish giants Real Madrid and French club Paris St Germain have also declared their interest, but unless any club is prepared to smash the current record transfer fee by over £30 million Mbappe would not be going anywhere anytime soon.

Manchester United has had an earlier substantial offer turned down by the French Ligue 1 club, it is reported that Monaco plan to offload unwanted players this summer but Mbappe does not appear to be on that list. It was only in 2016 Mbappe signed a new deal tying him at Monaco for another three years therefore Monaco have a strong position in bargaining.

The 18 year old's Dad that believes the striker's best chance of making the French team for Russia 2018 is to remain with Monaco, well that's not really a morale booster for his plenty suitors.

Tottenham Misfit Attracting Turkish Interest

Dutch striker Vincent Janssen who has failed to make any form of impact at White Hart Lane has emerged as a summer transfer target for Turkish club Galatasaray. The 22 year old has made just six appearances since his  £17 million move . The reports claim Galatasaray are willing to spend  £15 million on the Dutchman.

Galatasaray had tried to sign the Holland International two months ago, Janssen joined Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar after scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances for the Dutch club in the 2015/16 season but has managed just one goal from open play this term and that came in the thrashing of Millwall.

Galatasaray look to straighten their squad in other to stake a claim as Turkey's top side once again and are willing to spend on Janssen whom they still consider as a top striker despite his misfiring at Tottenham, Tottenham though will be unwilling to sell at a loss.

Video : Chicharito Equals Goal Record For Mexico

Javier Hernandez equalled Jared Borgetti's goal record for Mexico in their 2-0 win over Costa Rica. Mexico who are ever presents and regulars at the World Cup and they took a step closer in ensuring they will be at the party in Russia in 2018 with a victory over Costa Rica in their CONCACAF qualification.

Chicharito has had an indifferent career at club level with spells at Real Madrid and Manchester United, but the Bayer Leverkusen striker seems to be a different creation when he puts on the green shirt of the El Tri.

Chicharito broke Borgetti's long standing goal haul of 46 goals on Saturday morning and the 28 year old striker will shatter the record and probably set an unbreakable record because age is on his side.

See the video of the goal.

Chelsea Target Confirms He's Leaving Goodison Park

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has dropped the strongest hint that he will be leaving the club this summer. The big Belgian has starred this season with 21 league goals, Lukaku has been linked to Chelsea in the past few seasons.

If the rumours are to be believed Romelu Lukaku will cost something in the region of £70 million and the odds are against him signing a new deal with current club Everton.

The 23 year old revealed his mind is already made up and defended himself by saying there's nothing wrong with being ambitious.

"The decision has been made so I cant't talk about that," he said

"There is nothing wrong with ambition. You have to embrace it and where you are as a footballer.

"I've made a long way until now and the road is still long and I know I have to improve and get better. I want to help Everton as much as I can, as well as the national team. I think a lot of stuff can be achieved.

"Sometimes people will mistake things I say but it's just ambition that I have; I want to win trophies and titles and I don't think people should take that as arrogance - people should embrace it.

Cristiano Ronaldo Has Not Spoken To Club Captain Sergio Ramos For A Long Time.. .See Why

Real Madrid's Star boy Cristiano Ronaldo and club captain Sergio Ramos were reportedly involved in a bust-up following Real Madrid's victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday according to Spanish publication Diario Gol.

The Portuguese forward was not impressed by his substitution, Zinedine Zidane took off Ronaldo in the 79th minute and the 32 year old was clearly displeased as seen by his reaction, it was this reaction that angered the club captain and he decided to confront Cristiano in the dressing room.

Ramos has never been a fan of Ronaldo and gave the World's best player a dressing room dressing down, but Ronaldo is not known for lying down and an argument between the two reached boiling point.

The International break has not given room for a reconciliation.

List: Top 5 Players Who Are Not Regulars For Their National Teams

These Players Are Exceptional At Club Level But Do Not Have A Guaranteed Spot For Their Country.

1.Sergio Aguero
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has proven himself to be a lethal finisher for his club and through out Europe, but is not guaranteed a regular place in the Argentine starting 11, this is due to the presence of Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala and Lionel Messi. Sergio Aguero starts most game for the 'white and blue ' on the bench.

2. Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi is the second Argentine Striker in this list, despite the Inter Milan striker's healthy goal record in the Serie A he is constantly snubbed by the Argentine National team and has just one cap to his name, that came in 2013.

3.  Kevin Gameiro

Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro has never been a regular in the French squad despite his fantastic club form that saw him help Sevilla to three consecutive Europa League titles, the 29 year old has made just 12 appearances for France scoring 3 goals since 2010. Gameiro has netted ten goals in 26 games since joining Atletico Madrid last summer.

4. Alexandre Lacazette

France and Lyon striker Lacazette has been in fantastic form in the past few years but unfortunately his exploits have not been able to convince Didier Deschamps for National team worthiness, a deal to Arsenal last summer fell through but a move to a bigger club could do the Lyon striker a great deal of good.

5. Troy Deeney

Watford's 28 year old captain has been in fine form in the past to seasons but that England call up remains elusive and maybe rightly so, the Three Lions are spoilt for choices upfront with even Wyne Rooney struggling to get into the side, Deeney may have to wait a little longer to convince Gareth Southgate.

Wayne Rooney To Rejoin Boyhood Club Everton

According to The Independent Everton is expected to beat a host of Premier League clubs for Wayne Rooney's Signature this summer. Sources close to both Goodison Park and Old Trafford believe that at this point a deal is meant to happen, completing what will be a romantic return to his boyhood team.

There were speculations on Tuesday that West Ham will enter the race, but The Independent understands that Rooney will favour a move back to Everton, a club he left for Manchester United in 2004 as a teenager. In the past few months Rooney has fallen so low in the pecking order at United and also out of the England squad to face Germany and Lithuania albeit through injury.

Manchester United's all time top scorer turned down a move to the Chinese Super League in January as he believed he still had a lot to offer in the EPL. China though has not been completely ruled out for Wayne Rooney as a future destination either but it all depends on how he views his England future come this summer.

Five Games That Will Make You Look Forward To The International Break

The International break is a bore and not popular amongst football lovers who are used to the week-to-week runnings of their favourite clubs in their different pusuits, simply put we all prefer club football, even the players do, but here are some games that will spice up the break for you.

1. Argentina v Chile

Argentina host Chile in the wee hours of Friday (00:30) Nigerian time in a repeat of the 2015 and 2016 Copa America meetings where Lionel Messi and Argentina endured heartbreaks in both encounters. Chile is on 5th place in the CONMEBOL qualifying table, one place and one point above the albiceleste, no doubt this would be an exciting encounter.

2. Germany v England

Germany host their old foe England at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund today at 20:45 Nigerian time. The two teams met last last year and the English ran out 3-2 winners. England has won three of the last five meetings between these two teams and there has never been a draw in the meeting in the last five.

3. UAE v Japan

UAE host Japan in the group B encounter of the AFC's World Cup qualifier, no one has ever seen UAE in a World Cup game, the Arabic nation are on 4th place in a group of six but are just one point behind first placed Saudi Arabia. The neutrals will be rooting for UAE to win this one.

4. Uruguay v Brazil

Brazil will play Uruguay and kick off is at midnight on Friday (00:00) Nigerian time, Brazil have lost just twice to Uruguay since 1950 and the spoils were shared when they met last on the 16th of March 2016.Brazil is first and Uruguay second on the CONMEBOL log and the stars on both sides will be relishing the encounter.

5. Ireland v Wales

This a derby of some sort and there are exciting talents on both sides and the Euro 2016 semifinalists are armed with Gareth Bale who returned from injury just in time. Ireland have a better head-to-head record but the Welsh team have seen 'new' players change their perception on the world stage. This should be an exciting encounter.

Liverpool Track Leipzig's Youngster Timo Werner

Liverpool have spoken to Red Bull Leipzig about 21 year old Timo Werner however the German club are reluctant in selling their youngster.

The player's agent Karlheinz Forster has said that "there is general interest from Premier League clubs

the English are everywhere in the Bundesliga, they scout and track players intensively, and Timo has made himself even more interesting with his performances and goals for Leipzig."

Timo Werner is in the Germany squad to face England in Dortmund on the 22nd of March.

A host of English clubs chase Timo Werner after fantastic displays in the Bundesliga this season, but should Leipzig consider to sell the German Liverpool might be a likely destination given Jurgen Klopp's tie with the league.

Kante Says He Doesn't Deserve PFA Award.. .Great Guy!!!

Chelsea star N'golo Kante has ruled out himself from contention fro the PFA Awards instead saying one of his teammates deserve the gong. The French midfielder is a firm favourite to win the award after missing out last year to Riyadh Mahrez in Leicester's title winning campaign.

The 25 year old has been a star and the heartbeat of Chelsea's 3-4-3 formation system at Stamford Bridge, the Frenchman in humility thinks any one of his teammates deserve the to win it.

Kante helped Chelsea beat Stoke City 2-1 on at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

"I'm flourishing but I don't feel like the best player in the Premier League" said Kante.

"There are a lot of good players. A lot on guys deserve it on my team."

Eric Bailly Starts At Right Back At Middlesbrough And Is Having Confusing Game

Manchester United's starting line up at the Riverside has left both the fans and the players themselves confused. Jose Mourinho named Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly in the starting line up but NO! it's not a 3-4-3 formation and Bailly is the right back.

It was believed Antonio Valencia will be the wing back on the right but he's actually the right midfielder. Bailly immediately looked confused about his position and so did those watching. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is on the bench and can play that position and Ashley Young could also be utilised on the right.

The scrambled positions don't seem to deter Manchester United who are 2-0 to the good after 65 minutes.
