It is not enough that Argentina fans have endured heartbreaks since 2014 World Cup final game against Germany, it has been sad news after sad news in the two summers that followed, but with the latest ban that was handed Lionel Messi yesterday the whole country is not even sure of qualifying for the next major tournament.

Argentines in football circles however believe the ban would never have happened if Julio Grondona was still around, former Argentina FA President was a major figure inside FIFA until his demise in 2014, they go on to postulate that Argentina's standing has dropped seriously in the eyes of the World Football's governing body.
