Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford,Anthony Martial and the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic have not travelled to London with the rest of the Manchester United squad ahead of their quarter final tie with Chelsea.
Manchester United are still fighting for a top four spot and host FC Rostov on Thursday, but there had been no prior indication that the Portuguese manager will rest players for the Stamford Bridge showdown.
Three of Manchester United's main forwards were not spotted with the team at the Stockport station on Sunday afternoon. Manchester Evening News reports that 20 squad players boarded a train to the capital for the much anticipated fixture.
There have been situations where United players travel to matches privately so the trio of Rooney, Martial and Rashford could still feature.
