Manchester United Falters Against The Cherries
Marcos Rojo's first Premier League goal was not enough to defeat 10 man Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Manchester United missed a 'golden' opportunity to climb into the top four after a 1-1 against Bournemouth at Old trafford. Paul Pogba missed the first chance of the game when he covered a lot of ground to create a one on one opportunity with the goalkeeper but shot wide.
Rojo redirected Antonio Valencia's cross past the Bournemouth keeper in the 23rd minute but the visitors equalised through a penalty after a woeful defending by Phil Jones five minutes from half time.
The major talking point of the game came on the stroke of half time when referee Kevin Friend sent off Andrew Surman for pushing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the ground but failed to penalise the United striker for showing an elbow.
Manchester United themselves had a penalty in the 71st minute but Ibrahimovic couldn't find a way past Artur Boruc.
Liverpool host Arsenal in the weekend fixtures but United failed to make their dominance count.
