According to The Independent Everton is expected to beat a host of Premier League clubs for Wayne Rooney's Signature this summer. Sources close to both Goodison Park and Old Trafford believe that at this point a deal is meant to happen, completing what will be a romantic return to his boyhood team.
There were speculations on Tuesday that West Ham will enter the race, but The Independent understands that Rooney will favour a move back to Everton, a club he left for Manchester United in 2004 as a teenager. In the past few months Rooney has fallen so low in the pecking order at United and also out of the England squad to face Germany and Lithuania albeit through injury.
Manchester United's all time top scorer turned down a move to the Chinese Super League in January as he believed he still had a lot to offer in the EPL. China though has not been completely ruled out for Wayne Rooney as a future destination either but it all depends on how he views his England future come this summer.
