Two goals in each half was enough for Man City to see of Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
Sergio Aguero and David Silva were on target for the Citizens as they made light work of Boro in the FA Cup's lunchtime kickoff.
Despite a couple of missed chances the two goals were enough for Guardiola's side to seal a semifinal passage and now have a realistic hope of silverware this season.
Boro gave a good account of themselves for some periods of the game especially keeping an attacking City side at bay for long periods and appeared to threaten the visitor's defence line but the finishes let them down.
In the end despite missed chances and opportunities City are now in the Semis, Aguero's 24th goal of the season sealed the victory for the visitors in the 67th minute.
