According to reports Arsenal and Liverpool are favourites to sign Manchester United duo.
Mourinho has fallen out with the pair publicly and on more than one occasion and both players are said to be less than pleased with Mourinho's treatment of them. The Mirror Arsenal have renewed their interest in Smalling after failure to land the England International in 2010.
Arsene Wenger is said to be a long term admirer of Chris Smalling and sees his withering relationship with the Manchester United manager as a possible opportunity to get him.
The reds on the other hand eye Luke Shaw as they are short of personnel in the left back position with James Milner filling the position for most of the season.
Mourinho felt Shaw and Smalling needed to change their mindset and give their all for the team, both players have been in and out of the Manchester United team this season with recurring injuries.
