The third week of the English Premier much the same for Crystal Palace as the previous two. Arsenal also have some thinking to do as the top leagues in the Europe head into a 12-day International break. We take a look at the bitter reality facing Crystal Palace's Dutch manager amongst other events over the weekend that caught our attention.
Frank De Boer Could Be First To GO!
The fact that Crystal Palace have recorded three losses in their first three games of the 2017/18 season must have been bitter pill for their new Dutch manager to swallow as we head for a mini recess, more worrying is the fact that the Eagles are yet to score in the league this season but have shipped in six goals. De Boer might be a newbie in The EPL, but he's got experience from his time at Ajax and Inter Milan. It may surprise him to know that just after three games his job is already under threat. There have been managers who have parted ways with clubs in the recent past not even because they were performing poorly but they just didn't meet 'a particular standard'. Chris Hughton/ Newcastle, Sam Allardyce/ Blackburn , Quique Sanchez Flores / Watford. The aforementioned weren't expressly sacked but the clubs didn't exactly need their services anymore and De Boer might be on the verge of learning the hard way.
Tottenham Are Still A Force
Spurs are still without a win in Wembley, yet to win at 'home' this season. It's easy to point to the fact that they are not and may never get used to life at Wembley, but Tottenham have played really good football in their first three games and 4 points from 3 games is more down to bad luck than poor form or anything else. The lily whites were brilliant against A stubborn Burnley side just as they were against Chelsea and Spurs' No.10 Harry Kane has been quite unlucky with the goals. This Pochettino's team will come good. It's a matter of time.
It's Only A Matter Of Time For Arsenal And Wenger
The time has finally come for Arsenal's hierarchy to chose either to stick with Arsene Wenger OR sack the Frenchman and continue being a force in England. It's not an easy decision to make, but it's pretty straightforward. Mr.Wenger is running out of excuses and he's running out of them at the speed of light. The Gunners responded to an away defeat at Stoke by being convincingly thrashed by a Liverpool side that had European engagement just four days ago. C'mon Wenger, there's to legitimate excuse for Arsenal not to score a single goal in two consecutive Premier League fixtures. The decision to leave the club's record signing on the bench is a debate for another day. Whatever Arsenal Owners' decision(s) is/are, it's only a matter of time before what they decide begins to affect the club either positively or negatively if it hasn't already.
