The EPL was rich with goals and wonderful games, title deciders and relegation upsets. We take a look at the most glaring lessons from the just ended round of 24.
5. Leicester Are Now In A Relegation Battle
The 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester United meant that Leicester City were now just a point above 18th placed Hull City and 2 points above bottom placed Sunderland, they served up proof as if any were needed that their Premier League fate is in grave danger. David Moyes has gotten his team back in form, Sam Allardyce is a seasoned relegation fighter, Hull City now have a winning mentality and the Champions league distraction is coming back, so what are the champions' chances really??
4. Nothing Has Changed With Arsenal Or Wenger
Arsenal lost to Chelsea at Stamford bridge over the weekend and that was not a shame considering the fact that Chelsea are in the form of their life, but the manner in which The Gunners were swept aside like a pack of leaves was a talking point, Arsenal are now 4th , 12 points adrift Chelsea. It is obvious Arsenal needs a 'change'.
3. Liverpool Have Lost It
The Speed, the swag and of course the form with which the reds began the campaign with has mysteriously fizzled out, and even the reintroduction of Mane into the fold after AFCON did little to help a shattered Liverpool against Hull. Hull City have been impressive in the past couple of weeks but it 2-0 victory over Liverpool only heaped more infamy on the players from anfield.
2. There's More Drama At The Bottom Than At The Top
Jermain Defoe scored two goals in three first half stoppage time minutes as Sunderland thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0, Hull beat Liverpool 2-0 and Swansea almost snatched a point at the Etihad. What does this mean? It means that only two points separate 20th placed Sunderland (19pts) and 15th placed Middlesbrough(21pts) , It is shaping up to be the tightest relegation battles ever.
1.It Is Now A matter Of 'When' and Not 'If ' For Chelsea
Hazard's goal to make it 2-0 against Arsenal was the summary of how they've ghosted past their opponents this season, they still have the two Manchester clubs to play but that will be in April when the league might have been won, the other games with due respect are 'winnable games'.
