See Why Anthony's Next Goal Will Cost United €10m
Anthony Martial has been in and out of the United starting line up this season, but mostly out. There are rumours of a rift between the Frenchman and Portuguese manager Mourinho. There are reports linking Martial to PSG and most recently Tottenham, however Martial's former club AS Monaco will be hoping the striker stays a little longer at Old Trafford.
Martial's next goal for Man United will be his 25th and it will trigger a clause in his transfer that states that Monaco will receive €10m(£8.5m) if the Frenchman reaches 25 goals for United, his goal against Watford was his 24th.
Manchester United will also have to pay €10m when Martial wins his 25th cap for France if he's still at the club(he is currently on 15 caps), and another €10m if he's nominated for the Ballon d'or awards.
Martial joined United for €50m and that fee could rise to €80m if all the clauses are met, in addition Monaco are entitled to 50% of the sell on fee if he's sold above €60m.
Manchester United host St.Etienne on Thursday and Martial will be hoping to add to his number of goals.
