Cameroon Beat Ghana To Reach Finals

Two second half goals were enough for Cameroon to overcome Ghana in their semifinal tie last night.

Mubarak Wakaso and Christian Atsu went close for the Black Stars with two of their best chances in the game, but it was Cameroon's Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui that took advantage of a questionable defending by the Ghanaian defence to give Cameroon the lead in the 72nd minute.

Christian Bassogog sealed the win for the Indomitable Lions in the third minute of added time to bury any hopes of a Ghanaian comeback.

Cameroon last won the competition in 2002 will face Egypt in the finals on Sunday. The Cameroonian coach Hugo Broos described his teams as a 'team of 23 friends'.

Ghana had been tipped as the favourites to win the competition with the exit of Algeria, Ivory Coast and Senegal but once again they have underachieved, a regular experience since their last win in 1982 .
Avram Grant Expressed disappointment after the game and reiterated Ghana's hunger to win the cup.

"I wanted to be in the final, we did a lot today."

"My team is a good generation despite not winning a title." he said

Ghana face Burkina Faso in the third place playoff on Saturday.
