Barcelona were in need for a replacement for the outgoing Luis Enrique and have finally named Valverde as the new man in charge on Monday evening, the former Athletic Bilbao boss will be presented as Barca boss at a media conference on Thursday.

Valverde represented Barcelona as a footballer between 1988 and 1990, he started management in 2002 when he moved in to manage Athletic Bilbao's B side. Valverde has also managed Olympiacos, Villareal, Espanyol and Valencia but returned to Athletic Bilbao in 2013.
The Spaniard announced his decision to leave Bilbao last week after four years at the helm and will continue his career at the Nou Camp.
