List : The Golden Boot And 6 Things Yet To Be Decided In European Football

Majority of The Leagues in Europe to a conclusion this weekend, some titles have been decided and the winners already celebrating, but what else is left to be picked up as the 2016/17 European football season draws to a conclusion.

English Premier League Golden Boot
Harry Kane's four goal feat against recently deposed Champions Leicester City saw him breeze past Romelu Lukaku on the scoring charts, the England striker now has 26 goals, two more than his closest rival Romelu Lukaku. Diego Costa heads into the final fixture against Sunderland with 20 goals, Sergio Aguero has 18 goals and will travel to the Vicarage Road to play Watford in their top 4 pursuit. The race really is a two horse race between Kane and Lukaku but Everton have a much more tougher game on their hands as they travel to the Emirates meanwhile Tottenham play already relegated Hull City at the KC Stadium. The odds are certainly in Harry Kane's favour.

The Top Four Finish

While Manchester City are in the driving seat going into the final day of the season, by the end of Sunday, events could see them end up in 5th place, but if Liverpool and Arsenal fail to win then a draw will be enough for City, this isn't an option Guardiola should be thinking about because there exists a room or two for playoffs, for example If Arsenal draw 1-1 with  Everton and Liverpool lose 2-0 against Middlesbrough, then Arsenal and Liverpool will have a similar GF (75) an identical GD (31) and the same points tally (73pts) in such a case a play off will be required. If Arsenal also win 1-0 and City lose by 4-0 then again a play off will be required for the two teams will have the same GF (75), GD (32) and points tally (75 pts). So there is everything to play for.

Number Of Goals Per Season
The highest number of goals in a Premier League season since it became a 20 team competition is 1,066 goals and that was in the 2011/12 season. The 7 goal thriller at The King Power Stadium between Leicester City and Tottenham brought this season's tally to 1,027 and now the EPL needs 40 goals in the final day in order to beat that record.

The Spanish League

Spain's biggest teams go head-to-head in the final day in La liga, Barcelona trail Real Madrid by 3 points but have a superior head-to-head this season therefore Madrid have it all to lose if they ever succumb to  defeat at Malaga tomorrow. Maybe this could be Real Madrid's turn to end their five year league drought.

Champions League Race in Russia

Zenit St. Petersburg battle CSKA Moscow in for the final Champions league place in Russia's Premier League. CSKA Moscow are in second, one place above Zenit going into the final day.

Hoffenheim Chase Automatic Qualification

Hoffenheim have already sealed a top four spot but if they manage a win in Bundesliga final round of fixtures against Augsburg and then Dortmund don't win Werder Bremen at home Hoffenheim will go straight to the Champions league group stages without the burden of the playoffs. Dortmund also have their eye on automatic qualification after underachieving in Europe in recent years.
