Leicester City Striker Has Found Another Premier League Club
Leicester City's Striker Islam Slimani who is way way down the pecking order at the King Power stadium is reportedly speaking with Watford's manager Marco Silva in an attempt to move to Watford According to Watford Observer.
Slimani worked with Silva at Sporting Lisbon two years ago when the Algerian netted 15 goals in 22 starts and the pair are looking re-ignite that spark. Slimani's £28million move to Leicester City shortly after they became English champions has not reached expected heights after the striker managed just seven goals in his first season.
Overmars Set To Sign New Deal At The Emirates
The scenario at Leicester has not been all rosy for the 29-year-old with the manager (Claudio Ranieri) who signed him having left and the arrival of Nigerian Attacker Kelechi Iheanacho meant more competition.
Slimani told Algerian newspaper Le Buteur "I had a conversation with Marco Silva, who was my coach at Sporting, and he was very interested in having me on the team,
He presented me with a magnificent project but unfortunately it did not materialize. The leaders of Leicester City told me they wanted me here. But they are things of the past, now I am focused on my team."
Leo Messi Has Found A Club In England
Slimani was linked to Watford in the summer but it appeared to be a rumour until talks about the striker moving to Vicarage road resurfaced recently. Watford however made Andre Gray the club's record signing in the summer to add to Troy Deneey and Stefano Okaka who are also strikers at the club. Gray's signing by Watford might have ended all hopes of Slimani moving to the Vicarage Road.
