A report on Sport360 claims that Manchester City are ready to step in and make a bid of €400 million for Lionel Messi in January should the 30-year-old opt against signing a new contract. Barcelona has maintained that the Argentine is not for sale but after PSG paid Neymar's buyout clause in the summer the Catalan club fancies a chance Man City can actually pay Messi's buyout clause of €300 million.
Messi's relationship with City's manager Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain is surely a bargaining tool for the citizens if they decide to make the move.
Barcelona Are Also Monitoring Anthony Martial
Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Antony Martial's situation at Old Trafford. The Blaugrana believes Martial has 'Barcelona quality' and are willing to bring the French forward to the Camp Nou. Martial has only managed one start in the league this season, the manager mostly uses the 21-year-old as a cup player and Barcelona are ready to use this uncertainty to persuade the player to move to Spain.
139 minutes is the total amount of time Martial has played in the league this season out of a possible 540 minutes.
