World Cup qualifications in most continents came to a conclusion on Tuesday night. In Europe 8 out of the 9 teams that finished in second place will enter for the playoff draws to be held next week and the playoffs will be played during the International break in November.
On Tuesday evening France and Portugal inched past the qualification line with victory over Belarus and Switzerland respectively. 2014 third placed team Netherlands will not be in Russia after failing to beat Sweden with the required amount of goals and in Group H Greece grabbed second place after demolishing Gibraltar thereby quenching all hopes for Bosnia.

Slovenia and Slovakia are both tied on 18 points in Group F miss out on the Playoffs. The eight teams will be split into two groups of four based on their FIFA rankings - the highest 4 teams on FIFA's list will be in one pot and the lowest ranked 4 will be in another pot.

The draws will be held on the 17th of October and the playoff first leg will be played on November 9-11 and the second legs will be played across November 12-14.
