Bayern Munich And Real Madrid Go Head-To-Head For Confederations Cup Star
According to Calciomercato Real Madrid have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign German player Leon Goretzka. Real Madrid have contacted the 22 year old's midfielder through his agent.
Goretzka was one of the shinning lights for Germany in the recently concluded Confederations Cup in Russia but he still has a deal with Schalke 04 till 2018. Juventus were initially interested in the midfielder but failed with an initial bid two months ago when they tried to sign the youngster for cheap, and were willing to wait till January 2018 when they could get the midfielder on a Bosman fee.
The same website also reports that Bayern had already made a bid for the German International earlier in the spring.
Goretzka scored 5 goals and assisted 3 more in 30 appearances for Schalke last season, confirming his status as one of Germany's most talented up-and-coming stars.
