Lacazette Scores On Arsenal Debut
Arsenal played Australia's Sydney FC on Thursday morning and Alexandre Lacazette wasted no time in reminding the Arsenal faithful and indeed the whole world why Mr.Wenger twisted the plot to break the bank for him.
Lacazette was on the bench for Arsenal's opening pre season fixture but came on midway through the second half while the scores were still 1-0. Per Mertesacker had put the Gunners ahead in the first half. Arsenal freshman Sead Kolasinac was also at the back for the visitors.
The Arsenal team was a blend of both youth and experience, but Lacazette's first goal for Arsenal was created by Alex Iwobi. The former Lyon forward proved to be the missing link in Arsenal's frontline for a very long time, a striker who gets himself in the right positions.
Arsenal now have competition in the forward region going into a season where they would be playing in the Europa League and also challenging for the league. Arsenal will play Bayern Munich, Sevilla, Benfica and Chelsea in the space of a month but play Western Sydney Wanderers this Saturday.
Lacezette will look to better the previous no.9's for Arsenal in rececnt years, from Julio Baptista to Eduardo and then there's Park Chu-Young.
It took Alexandre Laazette 15 minutes to open his account for Arsenal, therefore it is anybody's guess what he can do in 38+ games in the coming season.
