Wayne Rooney got back to an old habit of catching up with Bobby Charlton's record on Saturday. Rooney scored the opener against Reading at Old Trafford in the FA Cup third round tie.
The Manchester United captain says he feels honoured to be level with Charlton as the club's leading scorer.
"It's a proud moment," he said.
Rooney has 249 goals in 543 games for Manchester United, Bobby Charlton has the same number of goals but achieved the feat over 758 games.
"we've got two games coming up this week so hopefully I can get the next one in one of those."
"This club is a huge part of my life and I'm proud to be up there alongside Sir Bobby," Rooney said.
Manchester United Play Hull City on Tuesday in the first leg of their league cup semifinal.
